Vael Privacy Policy
Vael is designed with privacy as a core principle.
No Data Collection
Vael does not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
The app does not include analytics frameworks, advertising networks, tracking technologies, or third-party data collection services.
Your Data
All journal entries you create are stored locally on your device by default and remain under your control.
Vael does not have user accounts and does not send your data to external servers.
Data Backup & Export
Vael allows you to export your journal entries as Markdown files inside a ZIP archive. Exported files are created locally on your device. You can choose where to save or share exported files, including local storage or iCloud Drive.
If you save files to iCloud Drive, they are stored by Apple according to its own privacy policies, not by Vael.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If enabled, your journal entries are synchronized between your devices using Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit services. This data is transmitted and stored by Apple, not by Vael. You can enable or disable iCloud sync at any time in Settings.
Location (Optional)
If you grant location permission, Vael uses your location only to calculate moonrise and moonset times. Location data is processed locally on your device, is not stored, and is never transmitted.
On-Device AI (Apple Intelligence)
Vael may use Apple’s on-device intelligence features to enhance certain functionality. When used, processing is designed to occur locally on your device. Vael does not transmit your data to external servers.
AI features are only used when available and enabled on your device. Apple may process data independently according to its own privacy policies.
